Elections
Colorado Special Districts hold elections for directors to serve on the Board in May of odd numbered years. The Districts next elections will be May of 2025. Any vacancies that are created due to resignations in between elections are filled by appointment until the next election.
In order to be eligible to run for a Board seat a person must be an “eligible elector” in the District which is defined as a registered voter of Colorado and either:
1. A resident of the District for not less than 30 days, or
2. The owner (or spouse of the owner) of taxable real or personal property situated in the District, or
3. A person obligated to pay taxes under a contract of purchase taxable property.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and, particularly, to the electors of the Cotton Ranch Metropolitan District of Eagle County, Colorado.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held on the 6th day of May 2025, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. At that time, three directors will be elected to serve 4-year terms, and one director will be elected to serve a 2-year term. Eligible electors of the Cotton Ranch Metropolitan District interested in serving on the board of directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form from the District Designated Election Official (DEO):

The Office of the DEO is open on the following days: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Email is recommended to obtain and submit forms.
The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance is close of business at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 (not less than 67 days before the election).
Affidavit of Intent To Be A Write-In-Candidate forms must be submitted to the office of the designated election official by the close of business on Monday, March 3, 2025 (the sixty-fourth day before the election).
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, an application for an absentee ballot shall be filed with the designated election official no later than the close of business on Tuesday preceding the election, April 29, 2025.
